Last Wednesday

I am only allowed to share limited information about this little guy... so I will refer to him as "Baby B" in this post.  I will also refer to his special need as **.

Last Wednesday (the 11th) I sent an email asking our family coordinator about whether is was tricky or not to add a "boy" to our list. You see.. we submitted our dossier just a little bit ago, and adding a boy at that time did not seem like an option. When I traveled to China last month I was able to hold a bunch of baby boys that would soon have their files at AWAA. I was able to take photos of these babies and our team gathered as much information as we possibly could. As I held the baby boys in my arms.. I thought to myself "are we supposed to adopt a boy?"

So our family coordinator wrote back letting me know that we would have to have our home study updated as well as a supplement 3 form from USCIS for approval for a boy.

I asked what the wait time would be for a boy.. and here's the response I received:

"The current wait for a boy with the special needs that you are open to is 0-6 months from your LID date. We currently have a boy on our Waiting Child website, Baby B, who has ** and ** that we don’t have a family for. We have a few other boys on our website that are available for review as well. So if you were interested in one of these boys, there is no wait. You could review a file now as long as we had approval from your social worker that she is comfortable with that. Then if you wanted to move forward, you would need to get a home study update right away to approve you for a male and send in the Supplement 3 form to update your I800A. "

Baby B? Who's Baby B? What's the password to the waiting Child website again? So after doing a search for the password for the WC website, I logged into the website to see who this Baby B. might be. "Oh he's adorable!  ** and **." "why hasn't he been matched?" Our family coordinator told us that all of the families currently logged in are requesting girls. Take note.. we did not have our LID yet.. but since we were close we were able to move forward with obtaining Baby B's medical paperwork. On Friday morning I prayed that God would give us our LID. When I arrived home from work on Friday I had an email waiting for me letting me know that we had a LID! What?

Yesterday we received Baby B's medical paperwork and basic information. Now what? Do we go the next step to review his medical paperwork with a doctor? I called a specialist to see how much it would cost for a medical doctor to review Baby B's paperwork "The cost? There's no cost. Dr. Long can look at the paperwork.. no charge. You can email the file!" So I asked our agency if I could move forward with Baby B's medical paperwork and they gave us the go.

So what's the next step? Why are we so back and forth? I was told by our family coordinator that a team had traveled to Baby B's orphanage in June of 1014 and that I could contact Beth (the team leader) and request information about the orphanage.. So I sent Beth a message last night asking about the orphanage and the staff. She asked me which trip I was asking about. I told her and then I received this response:

"We have  a blog you can follow and I will be making notes on the children to share with prospective parents and AWAA once we get home. We leave Thursday and will start our time in the swi on Monday!!!

This little guy is on my list:)

Beth"

Wait, what? They are leaving for this trip tomorrow! They will see Baby B. in person on Monday! Is this a nudge from God? I was almost in tears when I found this out.
