1st day in the orphanage!

Today was our first day serving at the orphanage. The six of us were spit into two groups. I joined Amy and Rachel one classroom while Brayley, Leslie and Melissa served in another. We were told by the nannies that they wanted us to figure out how to rearrange the room to make it work better. We were not sure what to do.. since the classroom (a place they sleep, eat and play in) was already set up in the best way possible. My only idea was to face the beds in a different direction. I figured if the beds were facing towards the windows, that the children would be able to look outside at the sky if they could not sleep. So that's what we did.. we moved the beds. The nannies seemed okay with this idea.

We had a nice afternoon break. We ate our lunch at the hotel and then I tried to catch up on emails despite our slow spotty wi-fi access.

When we arrived back at the orphanage we had the chance to meet the foster babies and their foster moms. I was curious if Ella's foster mom was present.. so I had our guide Joan ask. And to my surprise, she was there! Joan introduced use and we exchanged smiles. I told her that I was thankful that she took such great care of Ella. I also told her that Ella is a happy child and that she is super smart. Ella's foster mom asked to see pictures of Ella... but I did not have her photos on me. I was disappointed until Joan mentioned that we would see each other on Thursday at the birthday party!

Here are some photos of the foster babies! These babies will be listed with our agency soon!

Does this sweater look familiar to you? I was stoked to see it on this baby. This baby is being fostered by Ella's foster mom! And here's a photo of Ella below wearing the very same sweater!

Such precious children!
Here I am with Ella's foster mom. I find it ironic that she is wearing the same sweater that she was wearing in the photo with Ella! What are the odds? God You are so good!! I never thought that I would have the chance to meet this woman. I never thought I would have the chance to thank her for taking such great care of Ella! Feeling blessed. :)
