After receiving our Home Study in the mail.. we were able to apply for the Waiting Children Program. The Waiting Children Program usually consists of children with minor to major special needs along with some older healthy children. So I submitted the application for that last Friday. I received an email a few hours ago with some required reading and a prerecorded conference call. The conference call explained the shared list and actual referral matches. Since we listed only minor special needs we were told that the wait time (which is a guess based on what's trending at that moment) could be 18-24 months. Wow! It's so crazy to think that last time we signed up for the Waiting Children Program.. we were told that a referral could take up to a year. We were matched with Ella in just nine months (which felt like eternity to me... but not for Phil.) I know that God's timing is perfect. I know that whether we receive a referral in 18 months or in 24 months.. that there will be a reasoning for that timing. It's just hard to think that we could be waiting for two years to be matched and then wait about 5-6 months more just to hold our child for the first time.
With that said.. I am still waiting on my corrected employment letter. I was being patient. Hopefully I can find out the status of my employment letter soon. I do plan to send our Home Study off to USCIS early next month. At least we can get that ball rolling!
